Mitochondria-Microbiota Crosstalk: The Intriguing Relationship

Moreover, several decades of research on mitochondrial diseases had highlighted the wide and unclear mitochondrial diseases spectrum and interestingly, it superimposes on the spectrum of diseases involving the microbiota.

Based on this new advances, it is important to bring to light the mitochondrial – microbiota relationship and may be to consider mitochondria as a particular member of microbiota. This relationship may be particularly important for new strategies for the treatment of mitochondrial diseases.

The Mitochondria-Microbiota Crosstalk: The Intriguing Relationship will be discussed during Targeting Microbiota World Congress 2014.
